so amazed

coat: vintage pendleton inspired coat
dress: american apparel
boots: vintage

after mulling over it, I decided to sell this coat. I know, ITS MY PRINT. MY FAVORITE PRINT. I've kept it in my closet FOR TOO LONG with no wear. I love it to pieces and its just a kick ass find, BUT ALAS, I never wear it. You know how sometimes you hold on to things but no matter how you wear it, it just never....ya know? And I would rather it find a nice home than for it to collect dust in the back of my closet. I'm proud of my finds, and I want to share them not hog them!

On that note-I am updating my online closet and selling a bunch of new things! Thank you all for your support! Especially my girl Tori, who SNATCHED up that chain shirt I put up in a flash!! I am SO AMAZED because she looks soooo cute! LOVE THIS LOOK TORI ♥ ♥♥ //applause applause//

max fischer

awesome owl sweater: thrifted
corduroy shorts: f21
loafers: f21
beret: Logan

This was the other look I absolute adored from the Logan shoot. (which I know some of you mentioned you enjoyed as well from the look book) It made me feel rather rambunctious! But it also reminded me of another adored Wes Anderson character Max Fischer. I remember watching rushmore with my best friend (now boyfriend) 7 years ago in my mom living room. Awkwardly touching hands, and being amazed by this ingenue Wes Anderson.

I really feel like the tennis courts really set this outfit off. We actually sneaked into this private location! I'm surprised we didn't get caught, but I suppose if you look important, people leave you alone. And also, BARE LEGS! Jeez I haven't been bared legged in 4 months....and probably not again for another 3. Oh well that's the midwest for ya....

moonrise kingdom

Blazer: Vintage DKNY
Chambray: French Connection
High waisted Khakis: Bershka
Shoes: F21
Hat: Logan

Tell me this look doesn't scream Wes Anderson to you? I know all of us geeks are tweeking out over his new film. It's like a sigh of relief that one is coming out very soon. With all of our faves, Murray and Schwartzman, and a couple of new kids to keep the Anderson legacy going.

It's hard not to be inspired by Anderson, with his highly detailed sets and wide panning shots. Everything is so saturated and dreamy, it always tugs on your heart strings. But you know who else inspires me? My mother.

This hat, well in fact this shoot was done by my mother, for her Fall 2011 campaign. Now that the online shop is open, and her biggest shows have passed, I can finally show you some of my proudest work. She let me model and be the spokes woman for the 2011 campaign. This particular look was my favorite, and I got to style the whole thing.

My mom had been designing since before I was born. She has been featured on WGN, ABC, The Tribune, Sun Times, and WWD. She has done fashion shows, and has had her work at mega houses like Macy's and Lord & Taylor. More recently she has started a relatively new line called Logan. Which is reminiscent of her childhood. Each hat is made from vintage fabrics, such as coats from the 60s, and leathers from the 80s. And made new so that each hat tells a story of its own. I'm really amazed of what my mom does, and I am happy that I can share it with you all. I convinced her to try etsy, because she normally does wholesale, so we are crossing our fingers that it goes well. We collaborate together (well the whole family does) all the time, it's truly an honor to have such talented parents. Check out the site when you get a chance. Maybe I'll get a coupon code going on her soon so all of you can be extra warm this winter!

just wanna do somethin special

For all the ladies in the world....And dream about the sexy sexiness of Parisian men. Let me tell you I never felt so attractive until I went to France, it boosted my confidence like 85% from where it was. I always found myself to be s bit strange looking to my peers in Chicago, but with my ancestors in Paris I was the belle of the ball! Really allowed me to reevaluate myself and I came back a blogging MACHINE. I truly fit in there, Parisian women have "cooky" style, curly hair, some have brown skin, and best part...THEY EAT. So as it snows another freakin foot in Chicago today, lets all have a summer fling with some of the most handsome men the world has to offer.

Also take a lesson that I learned in France, feel confident in the skin your in, nothing is sexier than that.

ok and HOW ADORABLE IS THIS LITTLE GUY,
jeez even the kids of paris have AMAZING STYLE
bet he breaks all the little kindergarteners hearts....lawls

geeking out

my favorite orange shirt: vintage (seen better here)
blazer: sears...yes...sears
shorts: charlotte russe
granny shoes: vintage

I want to remind everyone to not forget that I am first and foremost, a nerd! (which is one of the many reasons why I don't support SOPA & PIPA) I was going through some pictures (dreaming of warmer days) and realized I never got a chance to share some of my super GEEKIN OUT photos I took at comic con. I used to be REALLY into comic con, these days I'm starting to drift out of it. This is contrary for my love of the comic book. I still love artist like Veronica Fish and Lucy Kinsley, but I the knee deep full throttle super geek 90% male dominated comic con....not so much. I spend my days relaxed and chill in Chicago Comics instead....Plus I am always fashionably inspired by my brightly clad super ladies...I MEAN WHO DIDN'T LOVE JUBILEE IN XMEN, the asymmetric do, big plastic earring...OH YES #90skid

BUT I DID GEEK OUT WHEN I SAW THAT SOME OF MY LATEST BLOG TRAFFIC IS COMING FROM 2 SMALL FEATURES ON REFINERY29!!!! OMG!! *guess I'm still a geek....

zoomed in to see it better :D

coat of many colors

dreamcoat: vintage
wool pants: vintage
red slippers: vintage
silk blouse: vintage
bolo tie: mother's
an all vintage look!

As far as I know, God doesn't play favorites. So why can't I have a technicolor dream coat like Joseph? Sure it doesn't give me magical dreams (indian food does that) But it does make me feel very special.

Again another piece found by my mother. You see she's a designer and she loves to use recycled and vintage fabrics in her work, BUT if she finds anything that I may like, she saves it just for me. We have a great relationship and she's always trying to find some of the coolest pieces for me to "blog about" haha!

I had to let to coat be the stand out piece but I've been curious to try to bracelet stacking method on my arm. It was tres cute for a while but then it cut off my circulation at dinner...c'est la vie!

Looking back at all my posts, my closet seriously looks like a bag a skittles..taste the rainbow :P

breakfast of champions

cindy sweater: vintage
mini floral: thrift
boots: vintage
leggings: f21

Now that I'm back in school (boo!) I've been getting up earlier. Running errands and trying to do photo shoots before class! Right before it snowed, it was oddly warm last week. I am trying to force myself to look decent EVERYDAY and not just for shoots. I have not been feeling well recently (excuses, excuses) but the best way to be comfy AND cute is to throw on your favorite pieces.

My mom snagged me this AMAZE vintage cheerleader sweater. I ALWAYS wanted one, but they are crazy expensive! I love it and it fits like its made for me! and not...cindy...haha!

Plus my super mini floral dress and some leggings and we're go to go enjoy the most important meal of the day! Dave and I have become old people and have been getting breakfast more than late night dinner. As long as I can get some fresh fruit, I am as happy as a clam!

lazy sunday DIY

what a better thing to do this sunday than a DIY. I have been loving the idea of taking boring old shirts and turning them into something a little bit more fabulous. And after Refinery 29's DIY collars I just had to get up and DO IT!

What I used: A bershka viscose shirt ( I got in London actually) jewelry pliers, and a few vintage studs I was hanging on to for the perfect project. I almost never wear this shirt but its sentimental since I got it on my travels. Thats why I decided to DIY. So I could get more wear out of it.

Out of all my studs, I really fancy these little guys because the remind me of 80s meets western.

So far so good, I wanted to keep it simple not over worked...

And TADA!

What do you think? I thought it would look really cute with my fave oatmeal sweater and a red lip, no?
Such an easy DIY took me no longer than 30mins flat!

Anyway back to bumming around, I really want to see Ricky Gervais piss people off tonite #goldenglobes!

hey guys
