Cropped Sweater: A'gaci (similar) (similar)
Flannel shirt: Ross (similar)

I'm excited that it's fall, I don't care if that makes me basic. ( haha JAY KAY) In all seriousness, I'm excited that I have an excuse to layer my clothes in anyway that I please and for it to be socially acceptable versus me looking like a vagabond. (at least I have a notion that I don't look like a vagabond between the months of september-feb, who actually knows!) When Articles of Society sent me these waxed coated Mya Jeans, I KNEW, I KNEEEEW what to layer them with. I snagged this short sleeve sweater number from Agaci, and layered it with a flannel shirt. For me this outfit screams classic Japanese Street Style, like something you would read in Soup or JILLE. Either way I'm totally digging the short sleeve over long sleeve though part of me never wants to recreate any style that I performed in the 90s. Plus these jeans make me feel like a cool girl (cooler than I am) like I should be hanging out with Devendra Banhart or something... photo aos3_zps69aec20b.jpg photo aos7_zps7f19eb24.jpg photo aos4_zps45fcdbf9.jpg

5 Days of AOS

Everything else: VINTAGE BABY, EVEN THESE SWEET SHOES AND RAY BAN, I KNO RITE?!!!

I don't know what came over me when I put together this look (for AOS 5 days of AOS collaboration) when I was home last weekend. Perhaps its because I'm ready to get spooktacular for Halloween! As a kid I wasn't allowed to celebrate, but as an adult, I take in the festivities as a casual celebrator. I think its fun to have a day to act like a child, eat candy, and dress like cartoons. Its like a free day to give our mind a rest

I was CLEARLY feelin lost boys this day. Maybe because moving to NYC has made me feel a little lost? I had such a clear plan of what I wanted and now that I've come here, that all seems so unsure. I don't really feel like going back to Chicago, but I don't know if I want to stay here either. In fact the only thing that sounds alluring these days is packing my bags and leaving for Paris...

I guess all these things just take time, right? Patience is a virtue...

Parisian Chicago (AVNT BLRGH X ARTICLES OF SOCIETY)

Its funny how certain things trigger unrelated memories. I always ignored the parks in Chicago because they are usually pretty crowded with tourist or out of the way. But when a friend from out of town visited, she remarked on how the reminded her of Europe. And it's true, Chicago does remind me of Paris.

I spent half my summer searching for the Parisian world of Chicago, and now that I'm in NYC I'm looking for the NYC things that remind me of Chicago. Nothing like a wild goose chase.

So far the only thing that remind me of home is binge watching Fraiser on Netflix. I love Fraish! More than any other show on television the dynamic of that family will always remind me of my family. My nerdy brother, my annoying self, and my down to earth mother. We really are them, and whenever I watch I am reminded of them. Even though my brother now lives in Florida, my mom is still in Chicago, and I'm in NYC, I can watch Fraiser and be reminded of the silly things we used to fight about. See the strangest things remind of the sweetest memories.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, how sweet are these jeans? White silk blouse, and hat, and a red lip. Perfect early fall casual as I walked around the parks in Chicago. I really love these Articles of Society jeans. They fit like a dream and make me feel like a dreamboat haha! So these booty shakin' poses are just for you guys!

My friends at Articles of Society sent me these wicked shorts, that I could not wait to throw on and head out to the beach. I'll admit it's been a while since I felt confident enough to wear white pants, but with my continual push to better health, these guys fit like a dream! I do not know why I suddenly felt inspired to be a little Miami Vice at the beach, white blazer and all, but I did feel effortlessly cool.

It's fun to explore some of these beaches on the South Side of Chicago, they're super clean and the architecture is also quiet amazing. So many structures here were built during the Colombian exposition (aka the world's fair) so Chicago always has that European twist everywhere you go. I've had sort of a wanderlust mentality around Chicago recently, trying to explore all the nooks and crannies I can before its bye bye! Oh Chicago, you certainly are beautiful
