une femme est une femme

As soon as I saw Line & Dots lookbook mentioned on Refinery29 I think my heart fell out of my butt. Can you say magnifique?! Inspired by Jean-Luc Godard and the oh so brilliant Anna Karina in Une Femme est une femme, I just think I have fallen in love with a new clothing line. And can anyone say weird, I love how...mix matched and messy everything is. ET UN CHAT!! Seriously, cats, berets, glasses, polkadots?!! TAKE MY MONEY. Perfectly french for a girl like moi! Anyone elses heart beating as quickly as mine? I hope so. And am I the only one getting Japanese magazine ViVi vibes from this? This feels so Lena Fuji.

This is almost as delicious as mermaiden's take on anna karina special look. Or even Ruby Sparks references to it in the film! (go see that movie btw...Paul Dano is love!)

how crazy will I look in blue eye shadow??

Denim Skirts: this season's must-have

It seems like denim skirts are making a massive comeback this season as
the '
90s fashion revival trend continues to take both the catwalk and the high street by storm. Think cropped tops, scrunchies, platform shoes, and of course, lots and lots of denim. Many of the hottest celebs right now have been spotted rocking the trend, from Victoria's Secret model Lily Donaldson, to pop starlet Rihanna.
Forget Friends and Saved by the Bell - the key here is to update the trend, not to replicate it. When Lily Donaldson attended the recent Absolut Elyx launch in New York, French Vogue went into raptures about her outfit choice: a classic Levi's denim skirt paired with a simple white shirt rolled up at the sleeves. Clean, fresh and effortlessly cool - this is '90s fashion with a modern twist.
With the right style and attitude, even denim-on-denim, normally deemed a fashion faux pas, can be transformed into something bold, edgy and stylish - as Rihanna proved when she recently stepped out onto the streets of Beverly Hills in a distressed denim skirt, denim shirt and baseball cap ensemble. Rips, tears and charms add even more sass to this bad-girl fashion statement.
Designer brands such as Yves Saint Laurent have embraced the '90s rock'n'roll denim trend with their most recent collections, and the high street was quick to get in on the action - denim jeggings at Very come in all shapes and styles, and remind us how incredibly versatile this style staple can be.
A denim skater skirt paired with a clean white tee and flip-flops is ideal for summer picnics and garden barbecues, whilst a chic pencil skirt paired with a halter-neck top and big heels works wonders for blending evening glamour with retro cool. From day to evening, classic to grunge, playground chic to athletic cool, the denim skirt offers endless opportunities for updating a '90s fashion favourite in new and creative ways.
