mansome mondays: popeye

I realize that it's not even close to being fall, and that this issue of Popeye came out last october. But I absolutely love this editorial. Last time I was in New York, Kinokuniya still had this issue, and now I regret not buying it. Not only is this editorial Annie Hall meets John Hughes but the entire issue was a New York City guide. I don't really know Japanese from what I picked up in my otaku days, but Japanese magazines are pretty visual enough you get the jist.

I'm starting to have an appreciation for men's magazines, maybe because there's fluff...

unisexy: frapbois

In honor of mansome mondays (even though its Tuesday) I wanted to share with you guys the spring/summer lookbook of the Japanese brand Frapbois. (Not sure if thats a bad translation of Frat Boys?) Its a cut and sew relaxed fit company where boys and girls share the same clothes. I love the preppy yet folky look this lookbook gives off. Reminds of the Japanese style I feel in love with back in the 90s! Plus is way less "hypebeasty" than it used to be. Since I've been diving deeper in getting more boyish charm to my style I feel like this lookbook is right up my alley! to be honest I've never been too much of a super revealing girl when I was in my teens. When men are trying to grab your butt on hot crowded summer trains, the last thing I want to be in is booty shorts.
