it so hard...to say goodbye

I'll admit guys, I'm a little depressed. My homegirl Shani Silver, the queen bee of Refinery 29 is leaving the Chi, (why jeebus why) She has helped launch the career of bloggers like me and other Chicago faves. She has given us the inside scope of everything cool and everybody neat in the Chi-town area! And now, she bids us a farely well. I can't stands it! She made Chicago...cool. I only hope her replacement is just as awesome as she, but they'll never be Ms. Shani!

On the plus side, before she leaves Chicago forevs, she's offering a writing class to help out all aspiring writers who would like to start a blog, improve their blog editorially, or even possibly some day be the next Chicago editor of Refinery29! Check out her class, get learned, start your writing career! I'm sure whatever advice she has to offer is solid gold.

If you don't have time to take the class, please take the time to tell Shani goodbye! @shanisilver
Chicago won't be the same without her, neither will Big Star...haha!

L!VE from the windy city

(many of these images are by Kelsey, the purple haired maven)

ho ho ho! what I day I've had! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! By the descendents of angels I was asked to be a model for Refinery 29 for a segment on Windy City Live (which is like Chicago's version of Good Morning America) I got my make up did by Shannon and got my outfit pulled by Shani the Chicago Editor of Refinery29. It was a B-L-A-S-T. I got to meet one of my heroes Val Warner, and prance around in colored jeans and a statement necklace. I felt so super blessed to have had this experience; all the girls I've met were so cute and such ingenues! Watch me walk the runway below..trololo:

I was really nervous at first but everyone was so nice to be around I kind of giggled my way on stage. These are just some images I pulled from all the girl's Instagrams and Refinery29's website!

SPEAKING OF INSTAGRAM, I am officially on board, let's follow! (same user name as my twitter)

geeking out

my favorite orange shirt: vintage (seen better here)
blazer: sears...yes...sears
shorts: charlotte russe
granny shoes: vintage

I want to remind everyone to not forget that I am first and foremost, a nerd! (which is one of the many reasons why I don't support SOPA & PIPA) I was going through some pictures (dreaming of warmer days) and realized I never got a chance to share some of my super GEEKIN OUT photos I took at comic con. I used to be REALLY into comic con, these days I'm starting to drift out of it. This is contrary for my love of the comic book. I still love artist like Veronica Fish and Lucy Kinsley, but I the knee deep full throttle super geek 90% male dominated comic con....not so much. I spend my days relaxed and chill in Chicago Comics instead....Plus I am always fashionably inspired by my brightly clad super ladies...I MEAN WHO DIDN'T LOVE JUBILEE IN XMEN, the asymmetric do, big plastic earring...OH YES #90skid

BUT I DID GEEK OUT WHEN I SAW THAT SOME OF MY LATEST BLOG TRAFFIC IS COMING FROM 2 SMALL FEATURES ON REFINERY29!!!! OMG!! *guess I'm still a geek....

zoomed in to see it better :D

hey guys
