Well as you may know I'm obsessed with stripes. So I decided to make a new blog to feed that addiction. Don't worry, I'm not leaving you guys here it's just a tumblr! It's called Breton Stripes Anonymous, and it basically dedicated to feed my obsession. Anyway I'd be so happy if you took a little time to check it out!

at dusk
border shirt: madewell
paperbag waist pants: idk
boots: vintage from mexico
glasses: bonlook (simply fab in havana)
There's really not a better feeling in the summertime than the feeling at dusk. It's fleeting but satisfying, the air begins to cool, you know the daytime is ending, beach time is over, al fresco lunches at the deli are no more, but alas it's night time. To young to sleep as the sun sets, it's time to surround yourself with your friends, listen to music and dance the night away. Have a drink and dream about better days ahead.
(Note if I'm a little red or grainy in these photos, it's because we took these at dusk!)

I wasn't kidding
Trousers: french connection

I really do love stripes. Starting to notice some of my clothes a getting almost too big to pull off as oversized. Guess that means shopping, hurray.
I'm too lazy to write a long witty and thoughtful post. I got a bike ride calling my name, and when my lady calls, I answer. Enjoy la vie!

Ever since I was a kid, I've been OBSESSED with stripes. Albeit via
Punky Brewester crazy mixed pattern style, to now a more relaxed
nautical feel. I gots to say, I love me some stripes. I think is such a
classic staple piece that never goes out of style. I'm slowly collecting
a load of stripey shirts that will hopefully last me for years to come.
One thing about being a professional artisit? You learn to invest more
on staple pieces, I can't be dropping dollars at forever 21 for
"coachella" wear when it will be out of style tomorrow. Plus maybe I'm
just getting more boring with age. (but let's just say more accepting of
my French heritage, no?)
Whatever the case, I think it will always be true, I LOVE STRIPES. Thought I share some inspiring posts of future summer looks. I mean whats more gamine + grandma than a naut-y stripe shirt?

Remember Carlton Banks dancing to Its Not Unusual on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? I was reminded of that when I was editing these photos and realized that I some how channeled my inner Carlton. Not so much a right winged conservative to hopes to one day be president....but maybe more of his preppy nerdy side, who likes to listen to his parents music. There's nothing wrong with getting down with some oldies and as for me classic 80s jams are always on repeat. Hall & Oates, anyone?
I always loved how the preppy was often considered the villain in 80s-90s media, like Steff on pretty in pink. But like Andy I always found them midly alluring...from big shoulders to a decadent lifestyle it all seems like a synthesized version of the French Rococo period. Still complete with pastel clothing and big hair. Maybe that's why I'm so attracted to it....
Therefore, this is my tribute to Rococo 80s prep, big hair, big shoulders, and all around saturated cheekiness. Lets all eat some cake, shall we?
But before that I leave you with this...
Happy Friday ;)

YIKES stripes
(i'm wearing: sweater -thrifted, salmonella pants - h&m, flats- vintage, collar necklace-stolen from ma)
if you were born in my generation, you know a little thing called fruit stripe gum, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, you remember the slogan. Yikes Stripes! Fruit Stripe Gum! Maybe I was madly channeling my childhood addiction this day, maybe I somehow become fixated on this wonderful drug we call candy. Who knows? But what I do know is that some days I just want to stand out like a colorful zebra! Is that possible? Or honestly, do i really need to stand out more than I do so? The feedback I get seems to be positive though, the clothes you see me in now are basically the same way i dress even when I go hit tha clubs! Sorry no Kardashian dresses and/or Snookie style mermaid hair, I dress like this ALL THE TIME. So maybe more than a zebra and I realized I am more like a unicorn, loud, proud, and sticking out like a soar thumb.
