one of my favorite things to do year after year is to collaborate with my designer mother for our annual editorial for her company Logan. If you didn't know, my mom is an artist, I grew up in a studio space, and when I was younger I wanted to be "normal" but now that I'm older I love and admire her. If you've seen Tiny Furniture, that's basically my life.

Every year she lets me express my creativity through helping her put together an editorial for her fall/winter line of hats and accessories. It's really fun and I admire my mom so much for being an entrepreneur and appraised local artist. This year, I was feeling a little 90s (last year I was totally channeling Wes Anderson) So we did this 90s meets Advanced Style look. I EVEN WORE A WIG (don't worry loves my hair is still here big and curly!) It was fun to get into character, I even recruited my friend and local chi-town blogger Daina to model as well! It was truly a fun fall day to remember. One thing I recall the most is that in this current look Daina said "You look like an art teacher at Hogwarts!!" which I thought was pretty funny and neat. I've always wanted to grow up to be some kooky artsy lady who wore tiny glasses...and now I finally got to live out my dream!!

Tell me this look doesn't scream Wes Anderson to you? I know all of us geeks are tweeking out over his new film. It's like a sigh of relief that one is coming out very soon. With all of our faves, Murray and Schwartzman, and a couple of new kids to keep the Anderson legacy going.

It's hard not to be inspired by Anderson, with his highly detailed sets and wide panning shots. Everything is so saturated and dreamy, it always tugs on your heart strings. But you know who else inspires me? My mother.

This hat, well in fact this shoot was done by my mother, for her Fall 2011 campaign. Now that the online shop is open, and her biggest shows have passed, I can finally show you some of my proudest work. She let me model and be the spokes woman for the 2011 campaign. This particular look was my favorite, and I got to style the whole thing.

My mom had been designing since before I was born. She has been featured on WGN, ABC, The Tribune, Sun Times, and WWD. She has done fashion shows, and has had her work at mega houses like Macy's and Lord & Taylor. More recently she has started a relatively new line called Logan. Which is reminiscent of her childhood. Each hat is made from vintage fabrics, such as coats from the 60s, and leathers from the 80s. And made new so that each hat tells a story of its own. I'm really amazed of what my mom does, and I am happy that I can share it with you all. I convinced her to try etsy, because she normally does wholesale, so we are crossing our fingers that it goes well. We collaborate together (well the whole family does) all the time, it's truly an honor to have such talented parents. Check out the site when you get a chance. Tea, not exactly, hot chocolate to be more precise. I met up with my old friend, whose in town for the holidays. It was so nice to see her and catch up.Also, because she is a hat lady like me, I had to show up my latest vintage find. IS THIS HAT NOT AMAZE? I absolutely love it. I saw it at a vintage shop by my house AND HAD TO HAS. I convinced santa to bring it for me for Christmas, and wallah her it is. I know its a little wild, but each day I feel my style getting weirder and weirder. I think I'm channeling my inner Eva Fontanelli, my newest muse.

How was everyone's holiday so far? Get what you wanted? I just wanted to spend it with friends and family, and I think I may have gotten my wish this year.

PS. I got a hair cut, IT NEEDED TO BE DONE. I know its sad to see the curls hit the floor, BUT I FEEL SO SPUNKY with my new hair, can't wait to show you what I've been up too!

This is my most favorite jacket. I mean it's the best of both worlds (kinda like hannah montana LOL JK) It's half pendleton sweater, half demin jacket. ALL VARISTY. It's kinda like me half & half. Haha! It goes with everything because I make it go with everything. It's so Angela Chase via My So Called Life, I loves it! I loves it with all my heart.

I also got this awesome flower print turtle neck on black friday thrifting. Dave was like " idk, looks a little grandma" obviously he doesn't know I love looking like an old lady AND I knew it would totally be awesome and weird. I've been dying to mix and match pendleton, with floral, & demin! Plus IM WEARING JEANS, how often does this happen? Finally found a pair of high waisted lovers at H&M, despite my "groovy" hair I'm not ready for bell bottoms, and low rise, show my butt and hurt my sensitivo kidneys~ no thanks!

I also wanted to say that the days I am able to wear a hat, I'M ECSTATIC, I normally can't wear hats because of my mane, so when I can, I wear them loud I wear them proud. Back in my straight hair days I used to wear hats nearly everyday, but today the feat is much harder. I'm trying to incorporate more hats in to my wardrobe because I can and it's what bernadette peters would have wanted.

HAPPY FRIDAY YALL, whose got hot hot plans, for once I don't IM EXHAUSTED. Might go see the lights at the zoo though, we'll see....
