These Dreams

(ugh I miss my long hair + warmer weather)

Blazer: Vintage
Sweater: Opening Ceremony
Trousers: Top Shop
Flatforms: H&M

I remember picking up an issue of BUST magazine and saying to myself "man I hope to be in this one day" who knew that day would be today. I really feel overwhelmingly blessed these past couple of days, and I feel really grateful and I appreciate all that read my blog.

Taking the pictures to be featured in BUST was super fun, but a little nerve wrecking. I wanted to look cool and profesh while still keeping my iconic annoying charm. I hope it came off and I don't look like a pink nightmare! Haha!

I really hope this feature opens some doors to some more acting opportunities. I know most of you don't know, but I train at Second City and I would love to do more acting (it's my secret dream) so if any if you guys has some connections or tips to share I would to hear them!

I'm excited for whats to come in this journery! And I'm so thrilled to share it with you all!

I can't believe I haven't shown you these pictures sooner! They some how got lost in the mix of everything that is my life currently! If anything they remind me of warmer days, going out with just a cardigan is simply no longer an option. I think I wore this as my last hurrah to summer. Not that I am a summer girl at all, but I do appreciate the idea of it being universally acceptable to just relax. Versus Americans normal mindset of work work work work...more reasons to miss France...

I spent this day lounging in a coffee shop, doodling cats and pretty girls. My boyfriend mentioned that I look like a retired grandma on vacation which I absolutely agree. Maybe I'll spend some of these upcoming harsh winter days crashing with my brother in Florida, pretending to be an old lady. The more I think about it, the more I love the idea... Lets promise to take some time out of our busy schedules to relax, shall we?

hey there, pink suit

floral blouse + pink blazer: vintage

Nothing quiet says happy monday like a pink suit. I've been rather thrilled that recently its been cool enough for me to wear long pants and sleeves. Everyone else is still happy to be in shorty shorts and tanks, but I am most happiest (yes....most happiest) in fall clothing. I know its hard to tell but the collar on this shirt is actually a triple fold. Plus who else is diggin' these shoulder pads? I know I am...I kinda like the vulture look it gives me...kind of like a scary mean old lady in a children's book who actually isn't mean at all but just lonely....but she still turns into a cat...because cats are awesome.

I know I usually try to write something more witty and insightful but I hit my head a few times this past week and knocked out all my wit and all that remains is dry british humor. Oh and if my hair looks only 70% awesome and not at max HP it's because it's still wet. Gotta stay clean.

I need a nap.

I'm just hanging on here with my moms after a whirlwind weekend in NYC. I had to make an urgent visit for some private matters ( though I did get some shopping done!) but more about that later. Last night I made dinner for my mother and we watched her favorite show over a glass of wine--fashion star.

I think we make the best critics choosing who should stay and who should, one of my girls who sadly is no longer there, is a chicago fashion star of her own, Barbara Bates. She invited me to come down to her studio last week, and of course it was da bomb! (yes...THE BOMB) I was able to see her work first hand and rub elbows with all the cool kids like Curvatude and Afrobella. Whenever I get invited to events I always debate on what should I wear, should I go chic blogger style or just be my ol weird self. Of course I choose the ladder, have we just met? (and if we have...nice to meet you ;) )

As always I'm channeling my inner late 80s early 90s new yorker....always...I feel like Barbara Bates enjoyed my look, hee hee... we even got to talk glasses! She has a little talk with us and her story is just so powerful. She challenges me to keep pushing towards my dreams...After going to the Bates studio, I am inspired to keep striving for the best.

I'm sure you were all dying to find out how I took my day look to night, and here it is! It was a simple task of removing the sweater and adding a fancy collar necklace. Perhaps I should've rocked heels but you all know I love a little bit of androgyny (or a lot of.....)

I was pretty stoked on how easy it was to take my look from day to night. I've always been fascinated by Japanese fashion and how they can take classic pieces and expand it for the whole month! I think it inspiring me for a project I'm setting up for the 2012 new year! But I'll explain more of that when it gets closer to the date!

Oh and as for that party I supposedly went to after work.... well i bailed after a few minuets & got sushi instead--because im tres awkward lol! Dont be fooled by this "cool" facade im actually quite a big dork!! Oh you knew....n/m...........

Anyway so glad to have the rest of this week off!!! I'm going to eat my brains out and spend all my money friday morning, cause thats what we do! Lol honestly, I'm looking forward to a home cooked meal, that I'm actually making. My mom just makes THE BEST desserts, my eldest brother makes the turkey cause I don't eat meat. I actually don't mind cooking, I love cooking, its so therapeutic, plus it helps out my mom because one of her biggest shows is the first week in December.

I just wanted to add that I'm truly grateful for such awesome new followers and people who support me to be such a big nerd on my blog , thanks to dave and pat for taking my pics, and thanks to you for your endless support. Oh and thanks for a job amirite???

ok ok, I think I rambled on enough....

happy thanksgiving xxoo
