 NEWS FLASH: I love men's clothes. You know what kind of news this is, non american news that really isn't news at all, because I think we all knew that I loved pants and or men's clothing, but who doesn't love a good old fashioned fluff piece??

This is what I wore on NYFW day one. And by that I mean, moving to New York and spending day one of NYFW unpacking ALL MY FASHION! Haha I missed the first show I was supposed to go to, because I'm learning all the trains, so I treated myself to new shoes! Grown up shoes no less! Yes these Elizabeth & James shoes are my "welcome to nyc" present to myself. Now I have two pairs of heels! Almost a woman! My mom told me that if I got these pants I had to balance them with heels, which I think she's right for now, but I know my loafers will come a creepin' real soon. Need not worry friends, I'm still me! Another mom story, she did not want me to buy this shirt, it's vintage Calvin Klein, but the person selling it wanted an arm full for it. Usually I'm like "eh I could find this cheaper else where" but when it's a vintage piece YOU KNOW YOULL JUST LOVE, flippin get it, as long as you can afford it. I wear this shirt to death, it's boxy, drapey, kinda like a suit jacket. Ugh, I love it. So lesson # two, mama ain't always right.

Hope mom doesn't read my blog today >_>;;;;;;;

mansome mondays: popeye

I realize that it's not even close to being fall, and that this issue of Popeye came out last october. But I absolutely love this editorial. Last time I was in New York, Kinokuniya still had this issue, and now I regret not buying it. Not only is this editorial Annie Hall meets John Hughes but the entire issue was a New York City guide. I don't really know Japanese from what I picked up in my otaku days, but Japanese magazines are pretty visual enough you get the jist.

I'm starting to have an appreciation for men's magazines, maybe because there's fluff...

There's just something about the way men wear their clothes. Classic cuts year after year, no fuss, no need to be loud and flashy, just by being so simple it makes them undeniably attractive. I told Kathyrn from Kitsune-Kun, that I was going to steal her outfit. To me it was just perfect. Trench, gingham, pant. Just classic. I've been feeling that way recently, just classic, no need to be loud or super obscure, go with classic cuts and patterns mix and match what you have. Like the boys....

It seems to be an on going trend in the blogging community. Especially with my eventual move, I don't want to be mulling over a bunch of clothes. Believe it or not I snagged this shirt from Forever 21 for $17! Its so J . Crew I hardly believe myself. I'm really starting to love blue again, it used to be my favorite color to wear in high school. PLUS PLUS, BOY PANTS, no really these are mens pants! I got so tired of the "boy friend" jean really just being wide straight legs, that I went over to the land of Uniqlo and found these suckers. I love them so much I wear them nearly everyday! They're super comfy (hello elastic waist) and its cool to tell everyone you're actually wearing men's clothes. I think I'll be shopping the boys more often.

Notice the new header? Was feeling a little Woody Allen this time around. P.S, why is it so cold its June! I'm still wearing a jacket most days. Oh well at least my electric bill isn't through the rough :P

I'm sure you were all dying to find out how I took my day look to night, and here it is! It was a simple task of removing the sweater and adding a fancy collar necklace. Perhaps I should've rocked heels but you all know I love a little bit of androgyny (or a lot of.....)

I was pretty stoked on how easy it was to take my look from day to night. I've always been fascinated by Japanese fashion and how they can take classic pieces and expand it for the whole month! I think it inspiring me for a project I'm setting up for the 2012 new year! But I'll explain more of that when it gets closer to the date!

Oh and as for that party I supposedly went to after work.... well i bailed after a few minuets & got sushi instead--because im tres awkward lol! Dont be fooled by this "cool" facade im actually quite a big dork!! Oh you knew....n/m...........

Anyway so glad to have the rest of this week off!!! I'm going to eat my brains out and spend all my money friday morning, cause thats what we do! Lol honestly, I'm looking forward to a home cooked meal, that I'm actually making. My mom just makes THE BEST desserts, my eldest brother makes the turkey cause I don't eat meat. I actually don't mind cooking, I love cooking, its so therapeutic, plus it helps out my mom because one of her biggest shows is the first week in December.

I just wanted to add that I'm truly grateful for such awesome new followers and people who support me to be such a big nerd on my blog , thanks to dave and pat for taking my pics, and thanks to you for your endless support. Oh and thanks for a job amirite???
