First thing i did when I got back from my trip to NYC was, go to a roller derby game. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME, and I must say, I REALLY got into it. Like really really.

Whenever I get back from a trip, I always try to keep the same spirit that I gained there and bring it back here. Whenever I'm in NY I'm always out, going to events, and trying new things....so I wanted to try something new in Chicago...well new for me at least.

It was a lot of fun, and a lot more newborns than I expected. Afterwards the gang and I hit up a local bar, and I was QUICKLY reminded that I was in the midwest, lots of stares at my strange hair and brown skin, not as fun as lively as the biergartens in Manhattan. Oh well...

On another note, going to see these tattoo ladens girls reminded me of  a time in my life where I used to be more hardcore, I wanted to be a derby girl, maybe even a suicide girl....them dark days are over. BUT SINCE I LIKE AWKWARD SITUATIONS I attached a picture of me looking o-so-cool...(couldnt find ANY picture of my monroe piercing....oh wells :P)

TO TRYING NEW THINGS!!

  3. That's so cool you went to see a roller derby, I certainly agree to trying new things though I don't often put that into practice myself haha. It's too bad you feel there is a noticeable difference in the way you are treated here in the midwest. I'd be looking at you, because you always look amazing, perhaps some people were thinking the same XD

  5. I can't say that I've ever been to the roller derby, but I do like roller skating. I also like your shoes!

This is my first time to your blog and I'm ecstatic to see that we have a mutual love for "When Harry Met Sally" and all things Sally Albright.

  6. You should check out the roller derby here in nyc...i hear its great fun, then again it's more fun when a friend is out there playing. I loved seeing that old pic of you. I'm not surprised. As a nyc native many people have the same thoughts as those in the midwest, since most people in a bar in Manhattan are transplants. They've learned to hide their discomfort and mask their curiosity. Today at brunch in Park Slope, Brooklyn and last week at dinner in Williamsburg I got stares. I've been to Madison and don't get me wrong it's different then here but with how diverse NYC is you'd be surprised by how people behave. So freakin long winded...all i'm tryin to say is...it's like that here too. nyc is not an exception.
